Airbrush Grainy Opaque Free Illustrator

If your work is going to be printed on paper, you can use watercolors to create flat colored areas. I usually skip doing this, but it can be a nice way to add a pop of color to your illustration.

In the below illustration , I used the same watercolor technique for the background and the animals' fur, I added more black to the highlights of the cat's fur and her eyes. I used a different color for the foreground's background.

If your illustration is going to be a print, you can use colors you already have on hand. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars to buy all the colors you'll need. You can start with a nice bright yellow and add other colors to it. You can add a bit of blue, black and white to your colors as well. These are your basic colors!

I would like to introduce Illustrator brushes here. I guess they are already familiar to many designers. Line, Pen, Edge, Airbrush, Stroke, Fill, Raster, Vector are the most common brushes in most of the software. But in Photoshop, besides those, there are quite a lot of brushes too.

These are my favorite Illustrator brushes for typography. I think they are more versatile than Illustrator brushes for watercolor. However, I suggest using Reflected Envelope with these brushes or you may not get the proper effect!
